Attunga Public School has joined 27 other schools as part of the Tree Troff Schoolyard and Community Biodiversity Project. Students will deepen their understanding of local environmental species and the importance of conservation as they identify and report on the different animal species that come to drink.
On Friday, 6 February, students in Years 3 to 6 attended the 2026 Bective Swimming Carnival at Werris Creek, enjoying a beautiful warm day of competition and school spirit. Our students demonstrated outstanding effort, determination and resilience throughout the day and represented Attunga Public School with pride. They showed exceptional sportsmanship in and out of the pool, encouraging one another and celebrating each other’s achievements. Congratulations to all students who competed and earned ribbons on the day, with a special mention to Hunter, April and Mia, who were named champion runners up in their respective age groups. Attunga Public School recently hosted a successful Careers Day, providing students with valuable insights into a wide range of future pathways. Throughout the day, students engaged with guest speakers from various industries, explored different job roles, and asked thoughtful questions about skills, education and opportunities. The event encouraged curiosity, broadened students’ understanding of the world of work, and highlighted the importance of lifelong learning. It was a meaningful experience that inspired students to think about their interests, strengths and future goals.
The Attunga Public School soccer team demonstrated outstanding commitment and sportsmanship throughout the season. Students represented our school with pride, showing strong teamwork, determination and continuous improvement in every match. Their dedication during training and their positive conduct on and off the field reflect the values of our school community. We congratulate all team members on a successful and rewarding season.
Jelli, our beloved therapy dog, plays an important role in supporting student wellbeing at Attunga Public School. With her calm nature and friendly presence, Jelli helps create a positive and comforting environment for students across all classes. She assists with emotional regulation, builds confidence, and encourages positive social interactions. Jelli has become a valued member of our school community, contributing to a welcoming and nurturing atmosphere for all.
